Hosting a Camera

Each installation is be customised to meet the security requirements of the host, no matter how stringent.

The information below addresses the most common scenarios.

Who is doing the installation?

Evercam engineers are PSA Licenced, fully-insured, have valid safe passes and hold relevant additional qualifications (IPVM, RECI, CCNA).

Could there be damage to the building?

No. For temporary installations, we use fish-tank ballasts and are careful to ensure that there is no permanent trace left on the building by drilling etc.

Do you need access to our network?

No. Where appropriate, Evercam make their own connectivity arrangements, typically using either 3G or Wireless Point to Point.

Can we use the Evercam network?

The network is password protected, but limited access could be granted.

If we were to offer access to our network, how do we know it would be secure?

There are many ways of doing this. Typically an Evercam IP camera requires just one local IP address which can be restricted for external access to only one external IP address of the Evercam recording server.

Would there be an impact on our broadband?

If the camera is using your broadband connection (by arrangement) then we typically are downloading no more than 100kb/s which is a small amount for a typical broadband connection. For bandwidth limited scenarios, this can be reduced to any appropriate rate.

What about privacy?

Nobody other than the pre-approved people have access to the images for the pre-approved purposes.

What about data protection?

In a typical scenario, Evercam (Camba.tv Ltd.) is both the data controller and the data processor. We are fully compliant with the CCTV guidelines set down by the Irish Data Commissioner.
